Business Services Network for Craft & Design Codice 78904

It's been a long journey, it's been exciting and tiresome, funny and moving...

We did it!

in September 2014 we visited our partners of Craft Central in London during the London Fashion Week and Design Festival. We were there during the Total Fabrication Event organised within the showrooms of CC. We also visited Cockpit Arts.
We exchanged and networked with the Craft Central staff, entrepreneurs, designer makers. We also visited Designers' Block, V&A fashion collection and 100% Design. London gave us a lot of energy and boosted our enthusiasm.

In January 2015 we visited our partners of Les Ateliers de Paris, in Paris.

We visited their incubators and pepiniere, we exchanged with the staff and residents in all fields of creative jobs: fashion, jewelry, design, craft.
We also visited the Maison&Objets international design trade fair, the Mobilier National and Manufacture Gobelines. We went to the École Nationale Supérieure des Arts Appliqués et des Métiers d'Art (ENSAAMA) Porte Ouverte and could see where the new artists/craftsmen are learning their skills. We visited and the Fondation Louis Vuitton new museum by Frank Gehry.
We took pictures, discussed, visited exhibitions, discussed, contacted prospects and clients, and discussed.
A great experience, a great inspiration, the beginning of a new adventure.

You can see it all in the short video we made!
Enjoy

My Dream Clothes: Giuliana Becattini, Tailor in Florence

“Beauty is eternity gazing at itself in a mirror”
Khalil Gibrain, The Profet (1923)

Giuliana Becattini, creator and founder of “L’abito che… vorrei – My dream clothes” was born in Florence in 1967. In 2009, she decided to enter the fashion world and started her career as handmade clothing designer. In her project, Giuliana mixes her technical/creative knowledge and her take on style and clothing design. Her models are simple, functional, elegant and, above all, highly customizable.

The company policy of “L’abito che… vorrei – My dream clothes” is to produce quality items: each piece of clothing/ accessory is carefully handmade with artisanal tailoring methods in an artisanal art workshop. The careful choice of fabrics and accessories and the extremely efficient customer service make of “L’abito che… vorrei – My dream clothes” a typical 100% Italian product, precious in its uniqueness.

99% Recycled: Qualcosa è cambiato / Something's Changed

qèc recovers, cuts, composes, assembles, mixes and transforms old clothes that don't serve anymore, what accumulates in the closets because out fashion, because it does not fit anymore, because irremediably broken or stained.
qèc believes in the long life of clothes and doesn't like to waste them, because creativeness doesn't always necessarily need new materials.

qèc takes care of everything: selecting and picking up the garments, restyling, transformation on demand.

Something old, something new, something borrowed, something given and…Una cosa Blu

Daniela Cusano, fashion designer and funder of Una Cosa Blu, mixing tradition, innovative solutions, research and craftsmanship.
The "lady of accessories'" refined her innate ability to enhance the detail in 12 years of career in prestigious international companies: Ferragamo for Emanuel Ungaro, Fendi, Swatch Group, Vivia, Viktor&Rolf.
The research, the development of original collections, the journey and the cooperation with excellent factories are in her DNA.
Florence, Rome and Benevento are the three cities where the project is realized: from the concept, to the samples, to imaging and production.
"Accessories are like "icing on the cake", the detail that represents us more than the dress, they emphasize a special moment, becoming its symbol.

Tre Mani Design: When Design Meets Tradition

http://www.tremanidesign.it/en/From a meeting of hands and minds, an architect and two restorers, each with a passion for Tuscan art and craftsmanship, TRE MANI DESIGN was born.
The beginning of a vision to create, produce and commercialize design objects and interior furniture of high quality craftsmanship.

Articles with a contemporary appeal realized using the most authentic Florentine artisan techniques and materials, especially the lime mortars and the ancient techinique of opus insignum (better known as cocciopesto).

A project born to give life to unique unrepeatable objects and environments, having a strong visual and emotional impact, in which the typical creativity of Italian design is joined with the exceptional manual skill of ancient production modes.

At the foundation of our creations lies our constant commitment to research; the forms we develop are carefully studied, keeping in mind both new trends and traditional models, rendering them contemporary and timeless.

Our research starts with old recipes, such as the ancient Roman mortar, which we propose in a new formula, enriching it with natural pigments that allow us to obtain an infinite number of chromatic and material variations.

All working phases, including shaping, engraving, polishing, waxing and buffing are completely done by hand.

The results are objects and furniture made in limited editions, even within each single series, characterized by the unrepeatability and uniqueness of each piece, with the possibility of offering a complete personalization of the item upon request.

TRE MANI DESIGN is also capable of offering its technical and artistic expertise for the designing and realization of exclusive and refined environments such as floors, wall coverings, kitchen counters and bathroom basins, tubs and showers.
